NORLINGTON’S NEW TIMETABLE
WRITTEN BY: SHAHBAZ, UMAR, MUAAZ, ABDUSHSHAKOOR, SYEDUL
The governors have taken the decision to the proposed new timetable. As requested the norlington school will offer the option of remaining in school to any students whose parents wish for them to stay until 3:15 (normal school closing time). This will include access to the Learning Resource Centre.
Regarding the decision, to alter the one hour lunchtime to forty five minutes we would highly recommend students to have their lunch quickly and smoothly as possible. It may be a incorrect decision to do this but it could prove to be immensely beneficial in the future because of the more learning time. Incidentally we prefer the new timetable because it is more convenient for us , as we do get to depart from school early on friday. Furthermore it allows us students to relax a bit after a tough and tiring week at school.
A parent of a year 7 student quoted:
We have to get to school (Monday to Thursday) at 8:45am in the morning. We then have registration which lasts 15 minutes, after that lessons start at 9:00.When we reach 11:00 we have finished the first two periods.our break lasts 20 minutes and then we have our third period. At 12:20 our fourth period begins, it ends at 1:20.Our lunch finishes at 2:05.Next we have registaration. Our final and fifth period starts at 2:15 and finishes at 3:15.
JAPANESE TSUNAMI
WRITTEN BY: ALI, SHUCAYB, JACK, SALMAN, SAHIN, AKAASH
This video is about presenting how the Japanese's earth quake happened or occurred with a simple demonstration with house hold items.
A tsunami occurs when either an underwater earthquake, volcanic eruption or a sudden disruption occurs . the Japanese earth quake was an extraordinary one as it measured magnitude on the recto scale this caused an enormous tsunami which destroyed most of the Japanese cost land and with it destroying the nuclear power plant which put the local area around the nuclear power plant, which lead to the community having to leave their houses.
On Friday’s period one to four are the same but we have registration from 1:20-
“ I disagree with proposal of changing the structure of the day. I feel this will cause far to much disruption to most of the parents that work, not to mention finding childcare and getting them picked up at that awkward time. No mention that schools are already struggling to fit all the lessons which should be taught in the curriculum and now we are wanting to shorten the school day further? this makes no sense and i as a parent am against this. This will do nothing but add further pressure on teachers, children and parents.
I understand it will give teachers time to increase their skills in this profession but the schools already allocate time to this with days of in the school year. Training for teachers could also be fitted in during half terms or summer terms, when children are off anyway”
I hope my comments are taken into consideration and this proposal does not go through.

CLIMBING FOR CLIMATE CHANGE
WRITTEN BY: SAMUEL, GRANIT, NAYIM, LEE, JACOB,
We have been reporting on Parker, a sixteen year old ,has decided to attempt an expedition across the north pole, he wishes to raise awareness of climate change. If he succeeds on his arctic mission he will be the youngest person ever to accomplish such an ambitious task.
Parker of all people knows how destructive the weather of the north pole can be as
only last year he attempted the same trial but the expedition had to be called off
the reason being as the weather was not on his side -
He has had extensive training and he also stated his biggest fear will be polar bear attacks.there is also a chance of him being cut of into open water.
With temperatures as low as -
To help scientists parker will be measuring the thickness of the snow so they can monitor climate change.
Parker will be leaving in about a week and a half, but this sixteen year old doesn't care for the record. He is more concerned about the climate and what is happening to our world today.
Climate change is one of the dangers that every single country and every single aspect of our lives would face. Polar bears and arctic foxes are some of the numerous animals that would be affected by the increase in temperature.
• Global sea level has increased by 10 to 20 cm in the 20th century, which is a lot.
• The UK contributes 2% emissions of carbon dioxide to the global total and each county in england produced about 10.5 tonnes in 2007.
