Cricket Academy

The Cricket Academy at Norlington  6th Form commencing in September 2022 is an elite cricket player development programme for both boys and girls, providing the opportunity for talented and ambitious players to harness their cricketing skills whilst benefitting from a full  6th Form education.

As the North East London School for The Essex Eagles Hub programme, successful applicants will have access to:

  • The County Grounds (Chelmsford) for training and educational development
  • Inspirational opportunities linked to cricket
  • Opportunities for students to work with matchday support teams
  • And compete in the Hub Schools Cricket Cup competition

One of the aims of our partnership with Essex Cricket is to provide a pathway for the very best cricketers into first class cricket. In addition to this, all cricket academy students will benefit from:

  • Twice weekly high-quality training at the Leyton Indoor Cricket Centre (Leyton County Grounds) throughout the year, delivered by an ECB Level 2 (minimum) coach
  • A full programme of competitive fixtures
  • A personalised cricket fitness programme
  • An opportunity for students to enjoy a biannual cricket tour
  • Achieving a Cricket Coaching Qualification
  • Support with applications for University Cricketing Scholarships

Applicants for our Cricket Academy must meet the entry requirements (qualifications) for all the A-Level / CTEC courses they intend to study at our 6th  Form. Excellence in cricketing ability alone will not secure a place at our academy. In addition to fulfilling the A-Level / CTEC entry requirements, all applicants will need to demonstrate their cricketing ability during our practical trials / assessments.
