The study of Physical Education not only works the body but also stimulates the mind. The P.E department at Norlington School will provide pupils with a high quality experience, which will give them the skills and passion that will enable them to live a physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
Physical education helps pupils develop not just physically but also personally and socially. Pupils have the opportunities to work as individuals and in teams, developing concepts of fairness, individual and social responsibility. The PE curriculum will focus on the development of concepts and principles that will underpin pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding to make informed choices about their future involvement as participants, coaches or officials. The PE curriculum and staff will enable all students to enjoy and succeed in a wide range of physical activities. Pupils will develop a wide range of skills and the ability to use tactics and compositional ideas to perform successfully. Pupils will be able to analyse and reflect upon their own and others performance and find ways to improve. They will also learn to take on different roles within sports and recreational activities. As a result, they will develop the confidence to take part in different physical activities and know about the value of living an active lifestyles.
